TERC VHS-1 Parts List

You will need the following parts to assemble a TERC VHS-1. Most dimensions are given in metric units. The exception is parts that are still more commonly available in English units in the United States (such as screws and drill bits).

1 741 operational amplifier (Radio Shack 276-007)
1 3,900,000-ohm resistor (Radio Shack 271-1354)
1 Green LED (Radio Shack 276-022A)
2 9-volt battery connector clips (Radio Shack 270-325)
2 9-volt clip-type battery holders (Radio Shack 270-326)
1 Solderless breadboard (Radio Shack 276-175)
2 Output terminal posts (Radio Shack 274-662A)
1 Toggle switch with screw terminals (Radio Shack 275-1533A)
3 Angle brackets (Stanley 1" corner braces)
5 #6-32 3/8-inch screws (for angle brackets and battery holders)
5 #6-32 hex nuts (for angle brackets and battery holders)
4 #4-40 1/2-inch screws (for breadboard)
4 #4-40 hex nuts (for breadboard)
1 VHS/Beta video cassette case (Pride brand from Wal-Mart)
2 7-cm lengths 20AWG red solid wire (Radio Shack 278-1222)
1 7-cm length 20AWG black solid wire (Radio Shack 278-1222)
1 9-cm length 20AWG red solid wire (Radio Shack 278-1222)
2 9-cm lengths 20AWG black solid wire (Radio Shack 278-1222)
1 10-cm length 20AWG red solid wire (Radio Shack 278-1222)
1 10-cm length 20AWG black solid wire (Radio Shack 278-1222)
1 #60 3M Coarse sand paper (to roughen end of LED)
2 9-volt batteries
Misc. Self-adhesive paper labels and optional bubble level vial

Note: Hardware (screws and hex nuts) is available from Radio Shack and hardware stores.
